Superintendent Office

Greetings Romulus Families,

Welcome to the RCS family for the 2018/2019 School Year! The summer of 2018 has been one to remember for hot, sunny weather! As we start up another year of classes, here are some points to ponder.........
The building and campus will undergo some major changes as we start our capital project! Some of these changes have taken place already. Asbestos containing materials have been removed from the floors in the Band Room, Cafeteria, and Home & Careers room. much of the second floor hallway has been exposed down to its inner structure. Site work crews will soon begin work outdoors to improve drainage on the athletic fields. More indoor work will take place starting in October during night shift hours. All this will be occurring and, yes, classes and regular activities will continue. Some classrooms are relocated at the beginning of the year while areas are being renovated in "Phase I".. Other classrooms will relocate in February when we will start "Phase II". Remaining areas will receive work next summer. All is planned for completion by December 2019.

While we transform areas of our school, we ask for everyone to be patient and supportive. We will have some extra traffic, construction personnel, and sounds, sights, and smells of construction. Our goal is to create updated spaces for the future of education in Romulus. However, for this year in particular,  we will need to function with some "transitional looks" to many areas as work takes place.
2018 shows steady enrollment at Romulus. As we start classes, once again, 459 students are enrolled.

I am proud to see the support and investment our community makes in our school. As we look forward to this year and many more ahead, our motto of “Children First, Learning Always” leads our work. Please know we continue to have sound resources managed wisely for the future of the district. Our administration and staff are striving to improve and expand our programs. While changes are a part of our professional environment we’ve come to expect, our commitment to students never changes. Each year we learn and grow to make RCS better. May the excitement of a new year be with all of you and here’s to seeing you at open house, concerts, games, shows, and all the rest of the events of the year.
